Maura is originally from Kilkenny but considers herself an adopted Carlow person having lived in Carlow since 1979. In Carlow Maura is well known from her days as a professional swimming teacher with countless schools in Co. Carlow and surrounds and from her involvement with the Irish Water Safety Association nationally. Maura is a founder director of CPM and is a Member of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (MIPAV) and an Honours Degree in Psychology from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth
